Possible Causes

Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice obstruction around fan blades, Broken fan wiring harness, Faulty fan driver circuit on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains power before accessing the fan area.

Access the evaporator fan:

  • Remove freezer drawers and shelves.
  • Unscrew and remove the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator and fan assembly.

Inspect the fan:

  • Check if the fan blades are jammed by ice or debris. If so, allow the ice to melt naturally; do not force the blades.
  • Spin the fan gently by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding noises.
  • Inspect the fan motor wiring and connector for damage or loose fit.

Test and replace:

  • With the unit unplugged, disconnect the fan connector and check for continuity across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
  • Replace the fan motor with a Finlux-compatible evaporator fan assembly, transferring the fan blade if required.
  • Ensure the new motor is mounted securely and wires are routed away from moving parts.

Reassemble and test: Refit the rear panel, restore power, and listen for the fan starting after the compressor runs. The E6 code should clear once the control detects fan operation.

Note: If the fan tests good but does not receive voltage during operation, the main control PCB may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
