Possible Causes
Evaporator fan not running, Ice blockage in air ducts, Stuck or failed air damper flap, Fridge temperature sensor misreading
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing internal panels.
Check airflow:
- Place your hand near the fridge air outlets (usually on the rear wall or ceiling). Little or no cold air flow indicates a circulation issue.
- Ensure food items are not blocking vents in the freezer or fridge.
Inspect evaporator fan:
- Remove freezer drawers and the rear interior panel.
- Check if the fan is obstructed by ice. If so, fully defrost the evaporator by leaving the unit off with doors open (protect floor with towels).
- If the fan does not spin freely or does not run when powered, replace it with a Finlux evaporator fan motor.
Check air damper (if fitted):
- Locate the air damper between freezer and fridge (often behind a cover in the fridge rear wall).
- Ensure the flap is not stuck closed by ice or debris. Clean and free the mechanism.
- If the damper motor is inoperative, replace the damper assembly.
Reassemble and test: Restore power and allow 12–24 hours for the fridge temperature to stabilize.
