Possible Causes
Failed water inlet valve coil, Stuck valve plunger, Shorted dispenser switch, Faulty dispenser control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator and shut off the water supply before servicing the water system.
F11 is related to the water dispensing or valve control circuit.
- Check for leaks or continuous flow: If water continues to flow from the dispenser when not pressed, immediately shut off the water supply.
- Inspect dispenser lever and switch: Remove the dispenser front cover (if accessible) and check that the lever is not stuck and the micro-switch is not jammed or broken.
- Test water inlet valve: Access the rear lower panel to locate the water inlet valve. Disconnect the electrical connectors and measure coil resistance; an open coil indicates a failed valve.
- Check for debris: Remove the water line from the valve outlet and briefly open the water supply (with valve removed from power) to flush debris into a container. Reconnect securely.
- Replace faulty components: If the valve coil is open or the dispenser switch is shorted, replace the defective part with a Fisher & Paykel-compatible component.
- Control board: If mechanical parts test good but F11 persists, the dispenser or main control board may be at fault and should be checked by a technician.
