Freezer section not maintaining temperature; display shows F2 and may beep intermittently.

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing internal panels or wiring.

F2 indicates the freezer temperature sensor is reading out of range.

• Check sensor placement: Locate the freezer thermistor (often behind the rear freezer liner or clipped to the evaporator cover). Ensure it is properly clipped and not encased in heavy ice.
• Defrost ice buildup: If the sensor is buried in ice, leave the unit unplugged with doors open for several hours or use a hair dryer on low setting at a safe distance to melt ice. Do not use sharp tools.
• Inspect harness: Examine the thermistor wiring for damage or pinching, especially where it passes through the liner. Reseat connectors at both the sensor and the main control board if accessible.
• Test thermistor: With the sensor disconnected and still cold (freezer temperature), measure resistance. Compare to Fisher & Paykel specifications; an open or shorted reading indicates a bad sensor.
• Replace sensor: Install a new freezer thermistor if readings are incorrect. Secure it in the original location and route wiring away from moving parts or sharp edges.
• Persistent F2: If a known-good sensor still triggers F2, the control board may be faulty and should be evaluated by a technician.
