Ice or frost buildup on the inside walls or ceiling of the freezer compartment.

Safety: No electrical work is required for this fault, but avoid using sharp tools on ice.

• Inspect gaskets: Check the freezer door gasket for tears, gaps, or hardened sections. Clean with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
• Dollar bill test: Close the door on a piece of paper and gently pull. If it slides out easily, the gasket may not be sealing in that area.
• Check for obstructions: Ensure food packages or bins are not preventing the door from closing fully.
• Defrost excess ice: Unplug the unit and allow ice to melt. Wipe away water and dry surfaces.
• Replace gasket if needed: If the gasket is damaged or does not seal after cleaning, replace it with a Fisher & Paykel-compatible freezer door gasket.
