Possible Causes
Locked dispenser control, Frozen water line in door, Clogged water filter, Failed dispenser switch or valve outlet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator and shut off water supply before disconnecting water lines.
- Check control lock: Ensure the dispenser is not locked via the control panel (child lock feature).
- Replace water filter: If the filter is old or clogged, replace it with a Fisher & Paykel-approved filter and flush thoroughly.
- Test water at base: Disconnect the water line at the bottom of the freezer door and press the dispenser. If water flows there, the line inside the door may be frozen.
- Thaw door line: Open the freezer door and allow it to warm slightly, or gently warm the door area with a hair dryer on low, keeping it moving to avoid damage.
- Check dispenser switch: Remove the dispenser front cover and test the micro-switch for continuity when pressed. Replace if faulty.
- Valve outlet: If no water flows from the valve outlet during dispensing, the valve outlet coil may be bad and should be replaced.
