Possible Causes

Door left open or not sealing, Failed evaporator fan motor, Dirty condenser coils, Weak or failed compressor or start device

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Ensure doors are closed when not working inside. Unplug the unit before cleaning coils or accessing fans.

  • 1. Check doors and gaskets: Verify doors close fully and gaskets are not torn or warped. Remove items blocking the door from closing.
  • 2. Listen for fans: With doors closed, you should hear the evaporator fan running after a few minutes of compressor operation. If silent, inspect and replace the evaporator fan motor if not running.
  • 3. Clean condenser coils: Pull the unit away from the wall. Vacuum and brush the condenser coils (bottom front or rear) to improve heat dissipation.
  • 4. Check condenser fan: Ensure the condenser fan near the compressor is running when the compressor is on. Replace the fan motor if it is stalled or noisy.
  • 5. Allow recovery time: After correcting issues, allow 12–24 hours for temperatures to stabilize. If H1 persists, further diagnosis of sealed system or control issues is needed.
