Refrigerator displays SY CE and may not cool properly; controls may be unresponsive or intermittent.

Safety First: Disconnect power before accessing any control boards. Static discharge can damage electronics; ground yourself before touching boards.

• 1. Power cycle: Unplug the refrigerator for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in. If SY CE reappears, proceed.
• 2. Access the user interface (UI): Remove the control panel trim (usually at the dispenser or top of fresh food section). Carefully pull the UI forward to expose the ribbon cable or harness.
• 3. Inspect and reseat connectors: Check the ribbon cable for kinks, cracks, or burn marks. Disconnect and firmly reconnect the cable at both the UI and the main harness. Ensure connectors are fully seated and locked.
• 4. Inspect main control board connections: At the back of the refrigerator, remove the control cover to access the main board. Verify the UI harness is fully seated and free of corrosion or moisture.
• 5. Test operation: Restore power and check if the error clears and controls respond normally.
• 6. Replace suspect board: If reseating cables does not help, replace the user interface board first (most common). If the issue persists, the main control board may need replacement. Label all connectors before swapping boards to avoid miswiring.
