Possible Causes
Failed internal control NTC sensor, Loose sensor connection on control board, Damaged harness between sensor and PCB, Faulty main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before accessing control compartments or wiring.
Procedure:
- 1. Reset appliance: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. If E11 reappears, continue.
- 2. Identify control sensor: Some Gaggenau models use a dedicated sensor near the air mixing or control area to regulate setpoints. Refer to your service documentation or locate the extra NTC sensor near the air duct or control housing.
- 3. Inspect wiring: Check that the sensor connector is firmly attached and that the harness is not damaged or pinched.
- 4. Test sensor: With power off, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. Compare to expected NTC values. Replace if open, shorted, or out of range.
- 5. Replace sensor: Install a new Gaggenau-compatible control NTC sensor, routing wiring as originally installed.
- 6. Control board check: If a new sensor does not clear E11, the main control board may be defective and should be replaced by a professional.
