Possible Causes
Damaged or deformed door gasket, Door not closing fully due to misalignment, Items preventing door from sealing, Warped door or hinge issues
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No electrical work is required for gasket inspection, but unplug the unit if you will be adjusting hinges.
Steps:
- 1. Inspect gasket: Check the entire perimeter of the door gasket for tears, gaps, or hardened sections.
- 2. Paper test: Close the door on a sheet of paper and gently pull. Repeat around the door. If the paper slides out easily, the seal is weak in that area.
- 3. Clean gasket: Wipe the gasket and mating surfaces with warm soapy water to remove grease and debris.
- 4. Adjust door: If the door is sagging or misaligned, adjust the hinges according to the installation manual so the door closes squarely.
- 5. Replace gasket: If the gasket is damaged or does not seal even after adjustment, replace it with a Gaggenau-specific door gasket. Warm the new gasket with a hair dryer to help it seat and remove wrinkles.
