How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing control boards or door harnesses.
- Inspect door harness: At the top or bottom freezer door hinge, locate the wiring harness connector. Check for pinched wires, corrosion, or loose plugs. Reseat the connector.
- Check dispenser UI board: Remove the dispenser control panel and verify the ribbon cable is fully seated and undamaged.
- Power reset: After reseating connections, restore power and see if E6 clears.
- Board replacement: If the error persists, either the user interface board or main control board may need replacement. A technician can determine which board is faulty using diagnostic procedures.
