Display shows tF and freezer temperature is not stable or unit behaves oddly.

Safety first: No internal access is needed for initial steps.

• Check TurboFreeze: On many GE models, tF indicates TurboFreeze is active. Press the TurboFreeze button to disable it if not desired.
• Exit diagnostics: If the display is not responding normally, consult the tech sheet (often behind the toe kick or rear panel) for the button combination to exit test mode.
• Control reset: Disconnect power for 5 minutes, then restore. Reprogram temperature settings.
• Thermistor evaluation: If freezer temperature readings are inaccurate or fluctuate widely, the freezer thermistor may be faulty and should be tested and replaced if out of spec.
