Possible Causes
Clogged defrost drain, Cracked or misaligned drain pan, Loose water line connection, Leaking water filter housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator and turn off the water supply before working on water lines.
- Identify leak source: Pull the unit forward and inspect underneath with a flashlight. Check around the drain pan, water valve, and filter area.
- Clear defrost drain: Inside the freezer, remove the rear panel and locate the drain hole under the evaporator. Use warm water and a turkey baster to flush the drain until water flows freely into the pan below.
- Inspect drain pan: From the rear, check the plastic drain pan for cracks or misalignment. Replace if damaged.
- Check water connections: Inspect the water inlet valve, filter head, and tubing for drips. Tighten compression fittings gently and replace any cracked tubing.
- Filter housing: If water appears around the filter area, the water filter housing may be cracked and should be replaced.
