Possible Causes
Loose condenser fan or mounting, Compressor vibration against frame, Ice buildup on evaporator fan, Refrigerator not leveled
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before touching moving parts or fans.
- Level the unit: Use a level to adjust front legs so the refrigerator is stable and slightly tilted back. This can reduce vibration.
- Check rear components: Remove the rear panel and inspect the condenser fan for debris or loose blades. Tighten mounting screws.
- Compressor noise: If the compressor is vibrating against copper lines or the frame, gently bend lines away or install foam pads to reduce contact.
- Evaporator fan noise: If noise comes from inside the freezer, ice may be hitting the fan blades. Remove the rear freezer panel, defrost ice, and check the fan motor for wear. Replace if noisy or loose.
