Refrigerator not cooling at all (both fresh food and freezer warm, lights on, fans may or may not run).

Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing the rear compartment. Sealed system work (opening refrigerant lines) must only be done by certified technicians.

• Listen for compressor: With the unit plugged in, listen at the back. If you hear only fans but no compressor hum or click, suspect the start components or control board.
• Check start relay/overload: Remove the rear panel and locate the compressor. The start relay and overload are attached to its side. Remove and inspect for burnt smell or rattling pieces. Replace the compressor start relay/overload if suspect.
• Verify condenser fan: Ensure the condenser fan runs when the compressor should be on. If not, replace the fan motor.
• Control board inspection: Look for burnt or damaged components on the main control board. If the board is not sending power to the compressor or inverter, it may need replacement.
• Inverter compressors: On models with an inverter board, check for status LEDs and secure connections. A failed inverter can prevent compressor operation and should be replaced as a unit.
• If compressor is hot and hums then clicks off: This often indicates a bad start relay or a failing compressor. Try a new relay first; if symptoms persist, a technician should evaluate the compressor.
