Possible Causes
Failed water inlet valve coil, Clogged water filter, Faulty flow meter (if equipped), Loose wiring to valve assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the household water supply and unplug the refrigerator before servicing the water system.
- Replace filter: If the filter is older than 6 months or water flow is weak, replace the GE Profile water filter with the correct model (e.g., MWF, XWF, RPWFE).
- Check for kinks: Inspect the water line behind the refrigerator for kinks or crushing.
- Test valve: With power restored, activate the dispenser and listen for the valve click. If no sound and voltage is present at the valve coil, replace the dual water inlet valve.
- Flow meter: On models with a flow sensor, inspect the wiring and replace the sensor if it does not register flow.
