Possible Causes
Ice maker module failure, Frozen fill tube, Faulty dual water inlet valve, Ice level sensor failure in ice bucket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the ice maker and unplug the refrigerator before removing the ice maker assembly.
- Check ice maker power: Ensure the ice maker switch is ON and the feeler arm (if present) is not stuck in the OFF position.
- Inspect fill tube: Look at the plastic fill tube entering the ice maker. If it is blocked with ice, thaw it gently with warm air and check for low water pressure or a seeping water valve.
- Test water supply: Dispense water at the door (if equipped). Weak flow indicates a supply or filter issue. Replace the water filter if overdue.
- Check ice bucket sensor: Some GE Profile models use an optical sensor. Make sure the sensor windows are clean and the bucket is seated properly.
- Replace components: If the ice maker does not cycle and water supply is good, replace the ice maker assembly. If no water enters during a test cycle, replace the dual water inlet valve.
