Possible Causes
Recent household power outage, Loose power cord connection, Tripped or weak circuit breaker, Faulty outlet supplying intermittent power
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not work on live electrical circuits. If you suspect wiring issues, contact a qualified electrician.
- Confirm power stability: Check that other appliances on the same circuit are operating normally. Reset the circuit breaker fully OFF then ON.
- Inspect the power cord: Ensure the GE Profile refrigerator plug is fully seated in the wall outlet and the cord is not damaged or pinched.
- Clear the code: On most models, press and hold the Alarm or Reset button for 3–5 seconds to clear PF. Some models clear automatically after a few minutes.
- Monitor operation: If PF recurs without actual outages, plug the refrigerator into a different known-good outlet (no extension cords). Persistent PF without real outages may indicate a control board sensing issue and warrants service.
