Possible Causes
Frozen water line in fresh food door, Clogged water filter, Faulty dispenser switch or paddle, Kinked water line to dispenser
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off water supply and unplug the refrigerator if removing door panels.
- Check lock: Ensure the dispenser lock is not enabled.
- Replace filter: Install a new GE water filter and flush thoroughly.
- Thaw door line: If the refrigerator is set very cold, the water line in the door can freeze. Raise fresh food temperature slightly and leave the door open for short periods to warm the line, or use a hair dryer on low on the exterior door surface where the line runs.
- Inspect paddle switch: Remove the dispenser cover and test the switch for continuity when pressed. Replace if faulty.
