Possible Causes

Weak compressor, Faulty start relay or PTC, Overload protector tripping due to high current, Low mains voltage

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before touching the compressor or electrical components.

Steps:

  • Check room voltage: If possible, measure mains voltage; very low voltage can cause repeated start attempts.
  • Inspect start device: Remove the start relay/overload from the compressor and check for burn marks or rattling. Replace with a Gorenje-specified start device if suspect.
  • Allow cooling: Let the compressor cool for at least 30 minutes unplugged, then reconnect and observe. If it still clicks off quickly, the compressor may be failing.

Note: A locked or failing compressor requires professional sealed-system service or replacement of the refrigerator.
