Possible Causes
Stuck or shorted keypad button, Moisture ingress into touch panel, Damaged ribbon cable between UI and PCB, Faulty user interface PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel or display assembly.
Steps:
- Inspect the panel: Check for visible cracks, condensation behind the display, or sticky residue around buttons.
- Dry the area: If moisture is present, leave the unit unplugged with the control panel open to dry for several hours. Do not use direct heat.
- Check the ribbon cable: Ensure the flat cable between the UI and main PCB is fully seated and not damaged or kinked.
- Test buttons: With the panel removed, press each button and feel for proper tactile feedback. A permanently depressed button can trigger E13.
- Clean contacts: For membrane keypads, gently clean contact areas with isopropyl alcohol if accessible.
- Replace the UI board: If the keypad or touch panel is physically damaged or unresponsive, replace the complete Gorenje user interface module.
- Reassemble and test: Restore power and verify that all buttons respond and E13 is cleared.
