• Inspect the sensor: Look for ice buildup around the sensor, broken plastic housing, or damaged wires. Carefully defrost heavy ice with warm air (hair dryer on low, at a distance) – never use sharp tools.
• Test resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at freezer temperature. Compare to the service chart; if it reads open, shorted, or far off spec, replace it.
• Check wiring to PCB: Trace the harness from the sensor through the cabinet to the rear where it connects to the main control board. Check for crushed or chafed sections and verify continuity with a multimeter.
• Replace the freezer NTC sensor: Order a Gorenje-compatible freezer temperature sensor. Install it in the same location on the evaporator or wall, secure it with clips or ties, and reconnect the harness.
• Reassemble and test: Refit the inner panel and drawers, restore power, and allow several hours for the freezer to reach temperature. The E2 code should clear automatically.

Note: If the sensor and wiring are confirmed good, the main control board may be misreading the sensor and will likely need professional replacement.
