Steps:

• Check power outlet: Verify the wall socket voltage is stable and within specification using a multimeter or by testing another appliance.
• Inspect power cord: Check for cuts, burns, or loose plug blades. Replace the cord if damaged.
• Access the main PCB: Remove the rear control cover (usually at the back, mid or lower section). Visually inspect the board for burnt areas, bulging capacitors, or darkened resistors.
• Check connectors: Reseat the mains input connector and all low-voltage output connectors. Ensure earth/ground is properly connected.
• Surge damage: If there are obvious burn marks or a strong burnt smell, the board is likely irreparable and must be replaced.
• Replace the main control board: Order the exact Gorenje PCB for your model. Transfer any jumper settings or wiring one connector at a time to avoid mistakes. Mount the new board securely.
• Test: Restore power and observe the display. If E9 does not reappear and cooling resumes, the repair is successful.
