Possible Causes
Ice buildup around evaporator fan blades, Worn evaporator fan motor bearings, Fan blade rubbing on housing or wiring, Loose fan mounting bracket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing the fan. Do not insert fingers into fan blades.
Steps:
- Defrost ice: If noise changes when doors are opened or after defrost, suspect ice. Remove drawers and rear inner panel, unplug, and melt any ice around the fan with warm air.
- Inspect fan blade: Check that the blade is not cracked and does not touch the shroud or wires. Reposition or secure wiring away from the blade.
- Check fan mounting: Tighten any loose screws or clips holding the fan motor.
- Replace noisy motor: If the motor is still loud after clearing obstructions, replace the evaporator fan motor with a Gorenje-compatible part.
