Possible Causes
Loose compressor mounting bolts, Refrigerant lines touching cabinet or each other, Loose condenser coil or fan shroud, Unit not leveled causing cabinet flex
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before working at the rear. Beware of hot compressor surfaces.
Steps:
- Level the appliance: Adjust the front leveling feet so the refrigerator is stable and does not rock. A slight backward tilt helps doors close.
- Check compressor mounts: At the rear, gently try to move the compressor. Tighten any loose mounting bolts, but do not overtighten rubber grommets.
- Secure tubing: Identify any copper or aluminum lines that touch each other or the cabinet and vibrate. Insert foam or rubber spacers and secure with cable ties.
- Inspect condenser and fan: Ensure the condenser coil and fan shroud are firmly mounted and not rattling.
