Possible Causes
Cracked or displaced drain pan above compressor, Excessive defrost water due to door left open, Leaking water inlet hose or connection, Condensation due to poor door seal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator and close the water supply valve (if connected) before inspection. Mop up any standing water to prevent slipping.
Steps:
- Inspect drain pan: Remove the rear lower cover and locate the plastic drain pan above the compressor. Check for cracks, warping, or misalignment.
- Reposition or replace pan: If the pan is out of place, reseat it properly. If cracked, replace with a Gorenje-compatible drain pan.
- Check water connections: For models with ice maker or dispenser, inspect the water inlet hose, valve, and internal tubing for drips or loose fittings. Tighten or replace as needed.
- Door seal and usage: Ensure doors close fully and are not left ajar, which can cause excessive frost and defrost water.
