Both refrigerator and freezer not cooling at all, interior lights work but no compressor sound.

Danger: High voltage is present in the compressor circuit. Unplug the refrigerator before servicing. If unsure, contact a technician.

• Confirm power: Verify that the outlet has power and that the fridge is switched on. Check the household breaker.
• Listen for compressor: After plugging in, listen at the back for a humming or clicking. Repeated clicking suggests a start device issue.
• Access compressor area: Remove the rear lower panel. Inspect the start relay and overload protector attached to the compressor.
• Check for overheating: Carefully touch the compressor shell (it may be warm). A very hot compressor that is not running may indicate a locked rotor or overload trip.
• Test and replace start device: Remove the start relay/overload and inspect for burn marks or rattling. Replace with a Grundig-compatible start device if suspect.
• Evaluate compressor: If the compressor still does not start after replacing the start device, the compressor or main PCB may be faulty. Further diagnosis and any compressor replacement must be done by a refrigeration technician.
