Possible Causes
Failed LED module in refrigerator compartment, Faulty LED driver circuit on main PCB, Loose lighting harness connector, Shorted LED strip causing driver shutdown
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before removing light covers or accessing wiring.
- Check door switch: Verify that the door switch is operating correctly (light should turn off when switch is pressed). If the switch is faulty, it can mimic a lighting fault.
- Inspect LED modules: Remove the plastic light diffuser cover in the affected compartment. Look for signs of burned or discolored LEDs.
- Check connectors: Ensure the LED module connector is firmly seated. Reseat it to clear any poor contact.
- Test with known-good module (if available): Swap the LED module with one from another compartment (if identical) to see if the fault follows the module.
- Replace faulty LED module: Install a Grundig-compatible LED light module or strip, ensuring correct orientation and secure mounting.
- Restore power and test: Plug the fridge back in and open the door to confirm proper lighting and that the E12 code clears.
If multiple modules are out and replacements do not fix the issue, the LED driver on the main PCB may be defective and should be serviced by a technician.
