Display shows E9 and the ice maker or water dispenser may not function correctly on models with these features.

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before working on the ice maker or dispenser. Water and electricity are a hazardous combination.

• Check for ice jams: Remove the ice bin and inspect for clumped ice blocking the auger or ice maker tray. Discard old ice and clear any obstructions.
• Inspect ice maker module: Look for broken plastic parts, stripped gears, or signs of water leakage around the ice maker assembly.
• Check door harness (if ice in door): Inspect the wiring harness where it passes through the freezer door hinge. Look for pinched or broken wires that could affect sensors or motors.
• Reset ice maker: Some Grundig models have a test or reset button on the ice maker. With power restored, press and hold according to the manual to initiate a test cycle. If the unit does not move, the motor may be faulty.
• Replace faulty components: If the motor does not run or the sensor is clearly damaged, replace the ice maker assembly or level sensor with a Grundig-compatible part.
• Reassemble and test: Refit the ice bin, restore power, and allow time for the ice maker to cycle. Confirm that the E9 code clears.

Persistent E9 errors after mechanical and wiring checks may indicate a control board fault and should be diagnosed by a technician.
