How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing the evaporator or electrical components.
- Manual defrost: Remove food, unplug the unit, and allow all ice to melt. Use towels to collect water.
- Access evaporator: Remove the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator coil and defrost components.
- Test heater and thermostat: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the defrost heater and thermal fuse/thermostat. Replace any open components with Grundig-compatible parts.
- Check evaporator sensor: Measure resistance of the NTC sensor and compare to expected values. Replace if faulty.
