Possible Causes
Faulty refrigerator NTC sensor reading too warm, Air damper stuck in open position, Incorrect temperature setting, Main PCB misregulating compressor run time
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing sensors or damper assemblies.
- Verify settings: Ensure the refrigerator temperature is not set too low. Adjust to a higher setting and monitor for 24 hours.
- Check air vents: If cold air is blowing strongly on items near the vent, move sensitive foods away from direct airflow.
- Inspect damper: Access the air damper at the top rear of the fridge compartment. Check if the flap is stuck open. If so, clean any ice or debris and test operation.
- Test refrigerator sensor: Measure the NTC sensor resistance and compare to expected values. Replace with a Grundig-compatible sensor if readings are off.
- Monitor after repair: Restore power and check temperatures with a thermometer over 24 hours.
