Possible Causes
Damaged door gaskets, High humidity environment, Mullion heater not operating (on models with heated mullion), Doors frequently opened
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No major electrical hazard, but unplug before inspecting heater wiring.
Steps:
- 1. Check gaskets: Inspect all door gaskets for gaps or tears. Clean them and the mating surfaces.
- 2. Reduce humidity: Use a dehumidifier in very humid rooms and avoid leaving doors open.
- 3. Mullion heater: On French-door models, the center mullion may have a heater. If condensation is heavy there, the heater circuit may be off or failed. Check the user settings for an energy saver mode that disables the heater and turn it off if condensation is a problem.
- 4. Replace gasket or heater: If gaskets are damaged, replace them. If the mullion heater is confirmed failed (by a technician), replace the mullion heater assembly.
