• 1. Confirm model features: Ensure your Haier refrigerator has a dedicated ice room/ice maker sensor (common on French-door and side-by-side models with built-in ice makers).
• 2. Access ice compartment: Remove the ice bucket and any covers to expose the ice maker assembly. The sensor may be clipped near the ice room air inlet or on the wall.
• 3. Inspect sensor: Look for broken wires, corrosion, or a sensor that has come loose from its mounting. Reseat the connector.
• 4. Test sensor resistance: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. Compare to the NTC chart at the approximate ice room temperature. Replace if open, shorted, or out of range.
• 5. Check harness: Trace the harness from the ice room to the main PCB. Repair any pinched or damaged sections.
• 6. Replace sensor if needed: Install a new Haier ice room temperature sensor, securing it in the original location to ensure accurate readings.
• 7. PCB evaluation: If sensor and wiring are good but E6 persists, the main control board may be defective and require replacement.
