Possible Causes

Loose or oxidized communication harness, Damaged display PCB, Damaged main PCB communication circuit, Electrical noise or surge damage

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before removing any control panels or boards.

Steps:

  • 1. Power reset: Disconnect power for 10–15 minutes, then reconnect. If Ed returns, proceed with hardware checks.
  • 2. Access display board: Remove the front display panel (usually on the door) by releasing clips or screws. Carefully pull it forward without straining the harness.
  • 3. Inspect connectors: Reseat the multi-pin connector between the display and the door harness. Look for corrosion or bent pins.
  • 4. Check door hinge harness: At the top or bottom hinge, inspect the flexible harness for pinched or broken wires where the door opens and closes.
  • 5. Access main PCB: Remove the rear control cover and reseat the communication harness from the door to the main board.
  • 6. Replace suspect board: If wiring and connectors are intact but Ed persists, replace the display PCB first. If the error remains, the main control board may also need replacement.

Note: Handle PCBs by the edges and avoid touching components to reduce static damage.
