- 1. Check door seal: Inspect the freezer door gasket for gaps, tears, or debris. Clean the gasket and cabinet mating surface with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
- 2. Look for frost buildup: Heavy frost on the evaporator cover or around the door opening can prevent proper sealing and airflow. Defrost the unit completely if needed.
- 3. Confirm temperature: Use a freezer thermometer to verify actual temperature. If the display shows H2 but the freezer is at or below -18°C (0°F), suspect a sensor issue.
- 4. Test freezer sensor: Check the freezer NTC sensor resistance and replace if out of spec.
- 5. Evaluate cooling system: If the freezer remains warm despite good seals, no frost blockage, and a good sensor, there may be a sealed system fault (leak, restriction, weak compressor). This requires a certified technician with refrigeration tools.
