Possible Causes

Failed water inlet valve coil, Blocked water filter or line, Defective water flow sensor (if present), Loose connector at valve or control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator and shut off the water supply before working on the water system. Expect residual water in lines.

Steps:

  • 1. Verify water supply: Ensure the household shutoff valve is open and water pressure is adequate. Check for kinks in the supply hose.
  • 2. Replace water filter: If your Hansa model has a water filter, replace it if it is older than 6 months or suspected to be clogged.
  • 3. Access water inlet valve: Remove the rear lower cover to locate the dual or triple water inlet valve assembly.
  • 4. Test valve coils: Disconnect the electrical connectors and measure resistance across each coil. A reading of infinite resistance indicates a failed coil.
  • 5. Inspect wiring and connectors: Check for corrosion or loose connections at the valve and along the harness to the control board.
  • 6. Replace components: Install a new water inlet valve assembly if a coil is defective. If your model uses a separate flow sensor and it tests faulty, replace the water flow sensor.

After repair: Turn on the water supply, check for leaks, restore power, and test dispenser/ice maker operation.
