Steps:

• 1. Level the appliance: Use a spirit level to check front-to-back and side-to-side. Adjust the front leveling feet until the unit is stable and does not rock.
• 2. Check rear cover: Ensure the metal or plastic rear cover is securely fastened and not vibrating.
• 3. Inspect condenser coils: Make sure coils are not touching the cabinet or other parts. Gently bend them away if necessary.
• 4. Compressor mounts: Verify that the compressor mounting bolts or rubber grommets are intact and tight. Replace worn compressor mounting grommets if needed.
• 5. Drain pan: Ensure the drain pan above the compressor is properly seated and not rattling.

Note: Some humming is normal, but loud rattling usually indicates a mechanical issue that can be corrected.
