Refrigerator display shows E0 and cooling performance is reduced or intermittent.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet before removing any panels or handling wiring. Do not work on live circuits.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Power reset: Unplug the unit for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in. If E0 clears and does not return, it may have been a transient fault.
- 2. Locate the refrigerator sensor: Inside the fresh food compartment, find the small plastic cover on the rear or side wall (often near the top or mid-height). Remove the cover to access the thermistor.
- 3. Inspect the thermistor and wiring: Check for broken insulation, pulled or pinched wires, or signs of moisture/corrosion at the connector. Reseat the connector firmly.
- 4. Test the thermistor (if you have a multimeter): Disconnect the thermistor and measure resistance at room temperature (around 25°C / 77°F). Most Hisense NTC thermistors will read roughly 5–10 kΩ at room temperature (consult the service sheet if available). If it reads 0 Ω (short) or OL (open), replace the thermistor.
- 5. Check continuity to the main PCB: From the thermistor connector back to the main control board (usually at the rear, behind a metal or plastic cover), verify continuity on both wires. Repair any broken or damaged wires.
- 6. Replace faulty parts: If the thermistor is out of spec, replace it with a compatible Hisense refrigerator compartment sensor. If wiring and sensor are good but E0 persists, the main PCB sensor circuit may be defective and the board may need replacement.
When to call a technician: If you are not comfortable testing resistance or accessing the main PCB, or if replacing the thermistor does not clear the error, contact a qualified appliance technician.
