Possible Causes

Defective ambient thermistor, Loose or corroded connector at display PCB, Damaged wiring between ambient sensor and control board, Failed control board input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before removing any control panel or display trims.

  • 1. Locate the ambient sensor: On many Hisense models, the ambient sensor is near the front display/control panel or behind a small grille on the cabinet front. Consult the user manual or look for a small vented cover.
  • 2. Inspect the sensor and wiring: Remove the cover or display trim carefully. Check the small thermistor and its wiring for damage, corrosion, or disconnection. Reseat the connector.
  • 3. Test the sensor: With the sensor disconnected and at room temperature, measure resistance. Compare to typical NTC values (often 5–10 kΩ at 25°C). Replace if open, shorted, or far off spec.
  • 4. Check the display/control PCB: Inspect for burnt components, corrosion, or water damage. Ensure the ambient sensor connector is firmly seated on the board.
  • 5. Replace faulty parts: If the sensor is bad, install a new Hisense ambient thermistor. If the sensor tests good but E2 remains, the display/control PCB may need replacement.

Note: A faulty ambient sensor can cause incorrect temperature regulation and excessive compressor cycling.
