Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice obstruction around fan blades, Broken fan wiring harness, Faulty fan driver on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing internal panels.
- 1. Listen for fan operation: With doors closed and unit powered (for diagnosis only), you should hear a gentle fan noise from the freezer. If silent or grinding, suspect the fan. Unplug before proceeding.
- 2. Access the fan: Remove freezer drawers and the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator fan assembly.
- 3. Check for ice buildup: Look for ice blocking the fan blades or shroud. If present, fully defrost the area. Do not force the fan to turn if frozen.
- 4. Spin test: Gently spin the fan blades by hand. If stiff, noisy, or seized, the motor is likely bad.
- 5. Electrical test: Disconnect the fan and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Also inspect the harness for damage.
- 6. Replace the fan motor: Install a new Hisense evaporator fan motor assembly if defective. Reassemble panels and restore power.
Note: A non-running evaporator fan will cause poor cooling and may trigger additional sensor errors.
