Possible Causes

Defective defrost sensor, Open defrost heater, Faulty defrost thermostat, Wiring fault in defrost circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance before accessing the freezer rear panel.

  • 1. Inspect for frost: If the freezer back wall is heavily frosted, the defrost system is not working properly.
  • 2. Access evaporator and defrost components: Remove drawers and the rear panel to expose the evaporator, heater, thermostat, and sensor.
  • 3. Test components: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the defrost heater and thermostat. Test the defrost sensor (thermistor) resistance as described for E3.
  • 4. Repair wiring: Fix any burnt or broken wires or connectors in the defrost circuit.
  • 5. Replace faulty parts: Install new Hisense defrost heater, thermostat, or sensor as needed. Fully defrost the evaporator before reassembly.

Note: If all components test good, the main PCB defrost control may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
