Possible Causes
Sensor drift or failure, Poor sensor contact with liner, Moisture intrusion into sensor housing, Damaged sensor harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing interior covers.
- 1. Compare actual vs displayed temperature: Place a separate thermometer in the fridge and compare to the display. Large discrepancies support a sensor fault.
- 2. Access the fresh food sensor: Remove the small cover on the rear or side wall of the refrigerator compartment.
- 3. Inspect and reseat: Check the sensor and wiring for damage. Ensure the sensor is firmly clipped in place and making good thermal contact with the wall.
- 4. Test resistance: Measure the thermistor resistance at known temperature and compare to expected values. Replace if out of spec.
After replacement, allow several hours for temperatures to stabilize and confirm F1 does not return.
