Possible Causes
Failed compressor start relay or PTC, Open thermal overload on compressor, Defective main control board not sending start signal, Failed compressor motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing the rear compartment. High voltage is present at the compressor terminals.
- 1. Listen and observe: Plug in briefly and listen for any clicking from the compressor area. A repeated click every few minutes suggests a start device issue. Unplug again before touching anything.
- 2. Access compressor terminals: Remove the rear lower cover. Locate the start relay/overload device on the side of the compressor.
- 3. Inspect start device: Remove the relay/overload and shake it gently. If it rattles or shows burn marks, it is likely faulty. Replace with the correct Hisense start device.
- 4. Test compressor windings: With the start device removed, measure resistance between compressor pins. All three combinations should show low resistance and no continuity to ground. If windings are open or shorted to ground, the compressor is defective.
- 5. Check main PCB output: If the start device and compressor test good but the compressor never receives power, the main control board may be faulty and require replacement.
Note: Compressor replacement and sealed system work must be done by a licensed technician.
