Possible Causes
Failed LED module, Loose light harness connector, Shorted LED driver on main PCB, Moisture ingress into light assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before removing light covers or handling wiring.
Steps:
- Remove the light lens or cover in the affected compartment.
- Inspect the LED module for burn marks or discoloration.
- Check the wiring connector for a secure fit and no corrosion.
- If multiple lights are in series, a single failed module can disable the chain.
Corrective action: Replace the failed LED module or light assembly with the correct Hotpoint part. If new modules do not resolve E12, the LED driver circuit on the main control board may be defective and require board replacement.
