Possible Causes
Blocked drain hole under evaporator, Ice plug in drain tube, Debris or mold in drain channel, Misaligned drain heater (if fitted)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before working inside the freezer compartment.
Steps:
- Remove freezer drawers and rear panel to access the evaporator and drain trough.
- Locate the drain hole at the bottom center of the trough.
- Use warm (not boiling) water to flush the drain until it flows freely into the drain pan under the unit.
- Use a flexible plastic drain brush or pipe cleaner to clear stubborn clogs.
Corrective action: If the drain repeatedly freezes, check for a missing or mispositioned drain heater and replace or adjust as needed.
