Display shows E9 and the ice maker (if fitted) does not produce ice or stops mid-cycle.

Safety first: Turn off the ice maker using its switch (if available) and unplug the refrigerator before handling the ice maker assembly.

Steps:

• 1. Check water supply: Ensure the water inlet valve is open and the supply line is not kinked. Although E9 is typically a sensor/motor fault, low water can cause jams.
• 2. Inspect the ice maker: Remove the ice bucket and look for jammed or fused ice cubes in the mold or ejector arm. Clear any obstructions with warm (not boiling) water.
• 3. Check the ice level sensor: Some IceKing models use an optical sensor or mechanical arm. Make sure it moves freely and is not blocked by ice.
• 4. Electrical inspection: Remove the ice maker cover (if present) and inspect the motor module and wiring connector for corrosion or burn marks. Reseat the connector.
• 5. Test or replace the ice maker assembly: If the motor does not cycle during a test mode (refer to the service manual) and wiring is intact, replace the complete ice maker assembly with the correct IceKing part.
• 6. Control board check: If a new ice maker does not resolve E9, the main PCB ice maker control circuit may be faulty and should be diagnosed by a technician.

Warning: Do not force the ejector arm; you can strip gears inside the motor module.
