Freezer cold but refrigerator compartment warm, with little or no air flow from fridge vents.

Safety warning: Unplug the refrigerator before removing internal panels. Meltwater can create slip hazards; use towels.

Steps:

• 1. Check airflow: Place your hand near the fridge air vents while the unit is running. Weak or no airflow indicates a fan or ice blockage issue.
• 2. Inspect freezer evaporator: Remove freezer drawers and the rear inner panel. If the evaporator is encased in solid ice, the defrost system has likely failed.
• 3. Manual defrost: Power off the unit and allow all ice to melt completely. Use containers and towels to collect water. Do not chip ice with sharp tools.
• 4. Test defrost components: Once accessible, test the defrost heater, defrost thermostat/thermal fuse, and evaporator NTC sensor as described in earlier entries. Replace any failed parts.
• 5. Check evaporator fan and damper: Ensure the fan spins freely and runs when the compressor is on. Verify the air damper between freezer and fridge opens and closes properly.
• 6. Reassemble and monitor: After repairs and full defrost, reassemble panels and monitor fridge temperature over 24–48 hours.

Note: Repeated frost block without a component fault may indicate door gasket leaks or frequent door openings.
