Possible Causes
Faulty ice maker module, Jammed ice cubes in mold, Failed ice maker water inlet valve section, Ice level sensor stuck in full position
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the ice maker and unplug the refrigerator before handling the ice maker assembly.
Steps:
- 1. Check ice bucket: Ensure the bucket is properly seated and not overfilled or jammed.
- 2. Inspect mold: Remove the ice maker cover and look for jammed cubes or scale buildup. Clear obstructions with warm water.
- 3. Test fill: In service mode (if available), run an ice maker fill test. If no water enters the mold but the dispenser works, the ice maker side of the inlet valve may be faulty and require replacement.
- 4. Check ice level sensor: Ensure the sensor arm or optical sensor is not stuck in the "full" position. Free it and clean any ice or debris.
- 5. Replace ice maker: If the motor does not cycle and wiring is intact, replace the complete ice maker assembly.
Note: Allow 24 hours after repair for a full ice bucket to form.
