Possible Causes
Corrupted calibration data in EEPROM, Main control board memory failure, Power surge damage, Incorrect service mode settings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing the control board. Do not short any pins on the board.
Steps:
- 1. Power reset: Disconnect power for 10–15 minutes to clear temporary memory errors. Restore power and check if F16 returns.
- 2. Service mode reset: Some Ikea models allow a factory reset via button combinations on the control panel (consult the user or service manual). Perform a reset if available.
- 3. Check sensors: Verify that all temperature sensors (fresh food, freezer, evaporator, ambient) are functioning correctly, as faulty sensors can cause calibration errors.
- 4. Replace control board: If F16 persists and sensors are good, the main control board’s memory or calibration data is likely corrupted. Replace the board with the correct Ikea-compatible part.
Note: After board replacement, allow 24 hours for the system to stabilize and self-calibrate.
