Error F17 appears and the refrigerator may not start the compressor, remaining warm.

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning coils or touching the compressor. The compressor can be very hot.

Steps:

• 1. Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate space around the refrigerator (top, sides, and back) as specified in the Ikea installation instructions. Built-in models must have proper airflow channels.
• 2. Clean condenser coils: Remove the rear lower cover and vacuum dust from the condenser coils and fan area. Clogged coils cause overheating.
• 3. Allow cooling: If the compressor is extremely hot, leave the unit unplugged for 1–2 hours to allow it to cool and reset any thermal protectors.

• 5. Control board: If ventilation and cooling are normal but F17 persists, the control board’s temperature monitoring circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
